Ruby Best Obituary

Ruby C. Best was born on May 19, 1957 to William H. and Theresa E. Best in Robbins, North Carolina. She received her formal education through the Elizabeth Public Schools System. She graduated from Battin High School.

Ruby loved God. Her joy was to make others happy. There wasn’t anything that she wouldn’t do for a family member, friend, neighbor or enemy. She was just a kind and humble spirit. She was a great entertainer. Ruby could often be found singing, dancing, laughing, cracking jokes amongst her family and friends.

Ruby truly adored her grandchildren. Everyone knew that they could count on Ruby. She would babysit and help anyone. That was her second passion, after loving on her grandchildren.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents Mr. William and Mrs. Theresa Best, two brothers, Lafell Best and Frank Best, and three sisters, Margaret Ann Best, Brenda Baker and Joyce Ann Best.

Ruby leaves to cherish her memories: her sons Aqueel Faulks, Alterrek Best, Leonard (Cheles) Jenkins, Willie Jenkins, Philip Best, and Carlos Ruiz, and daughter Danielle Best, all of Elizabeth, NJ.; Brothers William Jr. of Charlotte, NC and James Best of Elizabeth, NJ; sisters Nettie Best, Genevieve Best and Cynthia Best, all of Elizabeth, NJ; 18 grandchildren: Aqueel, Quamir, Janayah, Blake Gillespie, Jordan, and Alexis Faulks;  Aanesha and Aasad Connor-Best, Jayon, Leonard Jr., Brooklenn, and King Jenkins, Willie Jr. , Zahmaya, Airreyanna , Zaniyah, and Zoey Best; and Logan Gates; two uncles, four aunts, godson Tyshon Best; and baby Jace; two dear friends: Clara Roper and Angela Mallory and a great host of other loving relatives and friends.
