Brian Devine Obituary

Brian Keith DeVine of Elizabeth, NJ departed this earthly life after a long fight with lung disease. He gained his heavenly wings on April 20, 2021. Brian was born on January 5, 1966, in Elizabeth, New Jersey to the late Clarence DeVine Sr. and Dorothy Pauline DeVine.

Brian attended the Elizabeth Public School system graduating from Elizabeth High School Class of 1984. Brian worked for the City of Elizabeth for several years before pursuing employment with White Rose Foods-Carteret, NJ and Wakefern Corporation-Elizabeth, NJ as a forklift driver for many years.

Brian loved his family especially, his children who meant everything to him.  He and his lifelong partner Saprina Thompkins both raised 8 beautiful children together you never saw one without the other. If you know Brian, he loved listening and sharing his selection of music, to family and friends. Many of us would look at our text messages from Brian sending all sorts of beautiful music, music we have not heard in a longtime.  Brian would not text what he felt but he would express it through the music he sent. He enjoyed Monday and Sunday Night Football especially his favorite team Pittsburgh Steelers Black and Yellow in the house cheering them on to victory! He would brag to anybody about his team Pittsburgh Steelers 6-time Superbowl Champs oh did I say that he would laugh and continue bragging about his team.

Watching old movies reminiscing about the great times he had on Livingston Street sharing great memories with family and friends. Christmas was his favorite Holiday he enjoyed with his children, and they Love their dad oh so very much. Family and spending quality time with his children priceless.

Brian always had kind words of encouragement to about all who was in his presence. He kept our family laughing and joking an all-around great spirited person. We will miss and cherish all the great memories and fun times forever. Brian was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, companion, and friend. Until we all meet again my wonderful brother, your family and friends will always Love You, forever in our hearts.

Brian is preceded in death by his father, Clarence DeVine Sr., Mother- Dorothy P. DeVine , Brother-Clarence DeVine Jr. (Junie), Sister-Paula D. DeVine (Neicy) Neice-Tahlisha J. DeVine (Tee)
